Agency Criteria

VHItransport puts a lot of authority in the hands of our agents. Just consider, agents can contract with their customers under our authority, they negotiate and hire trucks at stipulated rates and they handle directly any and all issues related to the transaction.  It is therefore of utmost import that there is a match of both experiences, philosophies, integrity and character for both the company and the agent.  We look at it as we are married and want the marriage to be long term, therefore, lets spend some quality dating time so that we jointly make a good decision.  Some of the things we look for:

*Experience and knowledge in the freight industry.  –Example, you are or have been an agent for another firm, you have owned your own brokerage operation, you have worked successfully in motor carrier sales and have a shipper following, you have been with a motor carrier and have knowledge of the transportation business, you have an idea for a business model and believe we could work together on something unique, you just believe in what we do and want to learn our business, you have come out of the military and want to make logistics a career, other.

*-You have excellent references of character, honesty and integrity.

*-You have stability in your professional and personal life.

*-You have no police or court records that would be detrimental to having your application considered.

*-You have passion and energy to work for VHI Transport.

As an agent, we ask you to provide the following:

• A professional representation of VHI to our customers.
• A professional representation of VHI to  our  motor carriers.
• The time and effort needed to develop, maintain, and increase a steady business level.
• Local office space equipped with computer and telephone.
• All the expenses of  your operation.
• Personnel needed to support their local operation.
• Business license.
